West Village Dining
Location: Olio e Più
Two days ago I had the pleasure of stopping by Olio e Più, a cute italian restaurant in the heart of the West Village on Greenwich avenue and 6th avenue. Just on the cusp of Washington square park and a short stroll to Bleecker street. I was welcomed in by my good friend Kiara of Kiara Horwitz PR. To get the full experience the restaurant had to offer, I started by ordering a cocktail before appetizers. The Pimms Cup was my choice of poison, a refreshing cocktail that was shaken to perfection and served chilled, but still warm enough for the colder nights ahead. I followed up with appetizers of ricotta, sogno toscana truffle oil, and sea salt buchetta and an insalata di pera which had arugula, poached pears, gorgonzola, and candied walnuts. Each were fresh and enough for two to comfortably share over light conversation while waiting for an entree. Which I couldn’t decide and ended up having Tagliatelle Bolognese and Gnocchi with a side of chicken. They each complimented each other deliciously, one with rich thick meat sauce and the other with light basil pesto that went perfectly with the chicken. Even though I could’ve been done and ready to roll home after four amazing dishes. There was NO way I was going to pass up their Nutella pizza! One of their signature desserts, and believe me. This is one treat you will not want to pass up on your visit to Olio e Più. Made to order in the back and lightly grazed with sugar powder, your taste buds are in for a treat if you’re a true Nutella fan as I am. A sweet tooth perfect ending for a restaurant I will look forward to coming back to again and again.
