Happy Halloween Everyone! Hope your day has been spooktacular so far:) I’m gearing up to hit the nightlife in my costume…it’s a surprise so make sure to keep checking instagram later Let’s get on with our daily post, shall we?
West Broadway, an Eclectic, underrated street in Soho filled with savory food, good shopping and wonderful vendors. Please see my guide below on how to have a relaxing yet productive afternoon there.
what to see:
Street Vendors- Some of the most beautiful art I’ve seen in New York comes from West Broadway. If you catch it on a busy day you’ll find wire art where figures are 3D and literally reaching out to you. You’ll also see giant sized oil paintings 3 times your size. If the retail shops don’t do it for you then surely the Art will.
The scene at Cipriani- A beautiful and lively restaurant that always seems to be raving inside and out, italian style. The facade is bright and a giant, silver statue of a Bull occupy’s the front area for pictures.
What to Eat:
Chobani on Prince st- Heard of the yogurt? Well there’s so much more to it. If you’re an early bird and hit this street before noon I highly suggest breakfast at Chobani. They offer a variety of healthy dishes as well as delicious latte’s (with cool patterns on them, might I add)
Laduree Paris- After your breakfast and a couple hours of retail therapy you’re going to need a pick-me-up and Laduree Macarons can do just that. Offering over 20 flavors, you can take a box to go OR sit down and have some tea with them. They’re a sweet treat that’s about to hit it big here in America.
Where to shop:
J.Crew Liquor store- A unique shop offering many collaborative threads the brand doesn’t offer at general locations. Everything displayed is hand-picked and curated making it one of my favorites.
Ralph Lauren- Does this one even need an inro?
What to wear:
Something comfortable!!! As you can see I chose the very casual route by pairing a couple rich colors with my new topcoat by Express. It’s light, comfy and matches with everything. You all know by now how much of a coat-fiend I am and this situation is no different. I shop in it, go out in it and jump around on my roof in it pretending to be Batman. I mean….
follow these pointers and you’ll have one beautiful, SoHo day. Broadway may be the ultimate downtown shopping environment but now you know the hidden gem that runs parallel, West Broadway.
