In celebration of Victorinox Swiss Army’s 130th anniversary, the iconic brand has released a new watch, the I.N.O.X., a new Superman-like watch. The details below:
Standing for Impact Neutralizing Object for the X-tremes, the new watch has both a sharp and simple design that you wouldn’t think it would be able to survive a three story fall on to a concrete surface. Victorinox tested the watch’s durability with over 130 tests, and others included a 64-ton tank repeatedly driving over the watch and a test of surviving a washing machine for two hours at 194°. Neither of those tests sound like any fun at all, and many other styles would perish from them, but the I.N.O.X.’s other meaning also shows a bit of why it’s a survivor. The term ‘inbox’ in French stands for ‘stainless steel’, and the I.N.O.X. watch is solid, reinforced stainless steel.
The watch’s case has been stamped and machined in the metal, creating a protective envelope of unsurpassed strength Victorinox shares. The other qualities of the case include scarth-resistant sapphire crystal with triple anti-reflection treatment, water resistant to 200 meters, and a removable black silicone and nylon bumper.
With its clean steel style and solid black (or navy or khaki green) dial and straps, the watch is very versatile and can easily be dressed up or down. To dress up my favorite of the three, the khaki green style, pair it with a charcoal grey suit and brown or olive brogues or double monk strap shoes. To dress the watch down, simple dark denim jeans and white tee do just fine.
