With February behind us -- and March underway -- the countdown to summer is officially on! When it comes to my favorite season, summer is hands down the best time of year. The weather is amazing, days are longer, and social calendars are filled with pool parties and weekend getaways to the beach.

To kick off our road to summer, we are doing three-part story on swimwear. In Southern California, swimwear is arguably more vital than suiting. However for those of us not blessed with living in 72 degrees and sunshine 360 days of the year (sorry to those of you reading this in New York ;) ) realistically the next time you’ll need to put on a bathing suit, is your next vacation! We will be looking at swimwear styles for different locations and occasions.

We are focusing this part of our story on swimwear when traveling to a tropical destination or resort. When exploring an exotic destination, I think prints are always more fun than solid suits – after all – you’re on vacation!

I love this print from Vilebrequin! I paired these trunks with one of their linen shirts and sandals by Giuseppe Zanotti for a complete resort look.
