Now that the pre-fall collections are in, it is time to take a look at the best outfits from brands such as Calvin Klein, Chanel and others.
Flip through any lookbook, and you'll notice the trends right away: classic pieces with a twist, updated and reinterpreted for the modern man, as well as a minimal aesthetic were the things that defined many of the pre-fall 2015 collections.
In the cases of many collections, the fine details were what made them outstanding and special.
The biggest fashion lesson we can all take from the collections is that the details are what makes the difference in menswear. The magic is in the proportions, the cuts and the quality of the fabrics.
Let's see what you'll be wearing next fall:
Givenchy’s collection showcased simple styles that focused mostly on outerwear. The sharply-tailored coats were masterfully mixed with simple knitwear and straight trousers.
This look in particular stood out, as the red accents of the camel coat showed us how a pop of color can change an otherwise neutral outfit. The shoes are amazing as well.
Gucci’s take on the preppy/royal look did not go unnoticed by fashion aficionados from around the world. With a smart approach to the season, their collection featured an equestrian influence and captured the spirit of a youthful man who builds his wardrobe with care.
The structured jackets and sharp pants, which were tailored to perfection and embellished with a series of remarkable details, as exemplified by this look, gave a clean vibe that promised a very elegant, yet modern season.
Chanel’s creative director Karl Lagerfeld focused on his own childhood for his 2015 pre-fall collection. The Austrian presentation displayed an array of Central-European inspired designs. The Paris-Salzburg collection, as it was titled, revisited the creation of the original Chanel jacket in the 1950s. The result was a new, polished and sensible look, as this runway outfit proves.
For the pre-fall 2015 collection, French label Louis Vuitton embraced time-resistant classic pieces that were updated and transformed for 2015. With rich materials and hues, the fashion house delivered a collection of effortless luxurious looks, as this outfit goes to show.
The strong pieces were softened by careful cuts and bold colors, and the results were stunning. As usually, LV also prepped a collection of accessories that embellished the collection’s powerful looks.
The Calvin Klein pre-fall 2015 collection offered a new take on a series of casual clothes inspired by sportswear. With strong materials and a series of grounded looks, this collection featuring fitted leather jackets and utilitarian overshirts is the proof of how minimal looks can be extremely impactful.
We especially enjoyed this look that featured a black and white chromatic, clean cuts and rich materials.
Alexander McQueen presented a rather conservative collection. In their look book, which starred model Xavier Buestel, the label showcased bold looks that featured a retro vibe.
With a close eye for modern details, this look was one of our favorites, as it aligned all the fashion rules and mastered them with care: the proportions are remarkable, the fabrics are rich and the interesting details, such as the collar are truly outstanding.
As you can see, the pre-fall collections were dominated by very rich pieces that showed how one can look effortless, yet put together and extremely elegant and stylish at the same time.
