Over the weekend, Max Mara ambassador Natalie Joos and I raided each other’s apartments –mine in the Financial District, hers in Williamsburg. I’m wildly obsessed with her cool, eclectic style. There are very few “street style” stars who wear clothes in a personal kind of way. She’s a true original.
Her wardrobe is a terrific mix of the latest and the greatest, upcoming designers and of course, a ton of vintage pieces. She’s a HUGE champion of vintage shopping — she also took me to one of her favorite vintage stores in Brooklyn. Her closet is a well-organized operation with military-grade precision. Every single item had their own space and place. She has an accessories closet that housed her bags, hats and shoes. She invested in a custom-built closet in her spare guest bedroom which stored even more shoes and a ton of dresses. Her coats, like me, go to different rolling racks. Her sweaters (and yes, even socks) are all folded nicely. Even her sunglasses are organized, by color and style, in a really cool rotating stand that you usually find in shops.
It’s very impressive how she mixed different things that I own in ways I never thought of before. She knows what looks good in photos without even trying things on. A strip sweater underneath a printed grid top? Major.
Personal style aside, what I love Natalie the most is her intimate stories about life, living in New York and of course, dating. I live vicariously through her dating stories!
