A. Lange & Söhne Pour Le Mérite Tourbillon Fetches 275,710 Euros At Antiquorum Geneva
A few weeks ago we told you about an early A. Lange & Söhne tourbillon that was up for sale at Antiquorum. Well, on March 17th this amazing watch hammered for 275,710 Euros in Geneva. This far exceeded the 225,000 Euro high-end of the estimate and is a perfect example of what can happen when you have an exceptional watch produced in very limited numbers.
This early fusée-and-chain tourbillon from A. Lange & Söhne dates to 1996 and is one of a series of 200 watches that began production in 1994. But, making this piece even more special, only 19 were made with white gold cases - there are 130 in yellow gold, 50 in platinum, and one in steel. Add a stunning blue dial to the mix and you've got one extremely beautiful, collectible watch.
The final sale price of 275,710 Euros is more than four times the original retail price of this watch, showing just how much can happen in a few years. To see the Antiquorum listing, click here.
