I've been in a bit of a casual suit phase, finding 101 ways to style a suit without putting on a tie, sometimes ditching the button up, pinch-cuffing my slacks, rolling up blazer sleeves, tank tops, sneakers, casual belt, no belt, bandana as pocket square, you name it. I started a "Printed Matter" board on Pinterest and you'll see that the majority of my pins happen to be suits. Clearly I'm intrigued by how bold menswear designers can take a suit, questioning the fine line between apropos elegant dinner attire versus black tie affair; and I'm not saying that this all-over embroidered shorts suit by brand favorite Matiere would be considered appropriate for the former or latter, but I'll argue that it does step up the casual game from the summer go-to of shorts and a tee/tank, hmm? As long as you're not too serious about it and avoid dressing it up to something it wasn't designed to be, carry this look to brunches, coffee house meetings, or work (for some of you, though sub the tank). W(hy)TF not?
