Philips, innovator of many great things has just released their latest grooming gadget––The Beard Trimmer Series 5000. The 5000 series has so much to offer, such as, high-performance blades that give you great level of precision; skin-friendly; water-resistant for easy cleaning; dual-sided reversible trimmer for ultimate precision. It also offers a sleek and modern design with a combination of rubber/plastic body.

What’s in the box?

The Philips Norelco Beard Trimmer 5000 comes in a nice and sleek blue packaging to compliment the actual device. When opening the box, you will receive a beard comb, booklet and manuals, cleaning brush, charger and last but definitely not least––the beard trimmer.

Normally, I’m the kind of guy who likes a clean shave, but recently I’m really into growing out my beard and giving it a nice 5 o’clock shadow look. At least leaving some sort of stubble makes you look more mature and dapper––at least in my opinion anyway. Philips Beard Trimmer series 5000 makes trimming easier and it gives me a lot options in terms of length. To choose your desired length, simply turn the zoom wheel left and right and it will “locks in” your chosen length setting. The lengths go as short as 1/64″ (0.4mm) and up to 13/32″ (10mm).

My preferred settings go from 0.4mm up to 0.5mm as I like to keep everything neat and short. I like the blades a lot because they don’t irritate my skin compared to my other ones. Also, minimum strength is needed when trimming your beard as it will irritate your skin. Another great thing about this device is that it has got a reversible trimmer which is very useful for detailing. I used the small trimmer when trimming my moustache and the hair around the mouth area. The regular trimmer I use it to trim my sideburns and the hair along my jaws. After I finished trimming, I just run the blades under tap water and let it dry overnight––it’s definitely a cleaner way to clean your trimmer compared to just using the brush.

What I also like about this device is that I can use it with or without the cord. Sometimes it aggravates me when I’m trimming and there’s cord all over the counter and it gets twisted. The battery on this trimmer lasts for 60 minutes fully charged which is great because it saves me battery money and it’s more environmental friendly. This bad boy also comes with a 2-year worldwide warranty which is great especially if your travel a lot.

The Philips Norelco Beard Trimmer 5000 is the perfect companion to have at home or to take when you’re travelling. It definitely does the job without any problem and it makes trimming fun and hassle free. For its functions and settings, there’s definitely no other trimmers that can beat Philips’ Beard Trimmer 5000. It retails for $59.99* and it will last you a long time. If you’re in the market for a trimmer, you definitely want to pick this us as it’s inexpensive and can do a great job.
