The brand Monitaly was founded in 1997, and it's the brainchild of the highly respected designer Yuki Matsuda (of Yakuten fame). The founding principle of the brand is simple: it aims to revitalize classic and timeless American silhouettes by combining them with modern designs and superior craftsmanship.
With the weather starting to change in NYC to autumn-like temperatures, the clothes from the new Monitaly collection look extremely appealing. The entire collection looks extremely versatile - spanning the spectrum from outdoors inspired themes to formal clothes re-contextualized with unique fabrics and innovative design twists.
Peruse the slideshow above and you will quickly notice that Mr. Matsuda is a true master in his field. There are impressive patchwork suits, denim workwear pieces, military-inspired peacoats, expertly-fitting quilted blazers and rugged military-style bombers. One of the standout pieces is a shawl collar winter jacket that perfectly straddles the line of casual and formal wear with ease and elegance.
