Markus Lupfer Channels the Wild West for Spring 2016

Life in America desert establishes the setting for Markus Lupfer menswear spring/summer 2016. Creating a warm palette, the dry climate and sophisticated colours of the prairie pave of the way for the deconstructed and de-fringed cowboy. Flora and fauna motifs of the dearest set the tone for a young, contemporary and casually luxurious collection.


A desert animal print – featuring meerkats, vultures, bulls, eagles, snakes, and chameloons- embodies the collection spirit, while a sand camouflage print at once contrast and complements the tobacco brown used throughout. Print enter into a natural symblosis with dry fabric; such as coated cottons, bonded jersey, seersucker, denim and suede- and add a subtle sense of texture.


Bonded jersey established the foundation for jumpers adorned with graphic elements including embroidery and laser-cut cork motifs. Quit versions of patterns are used on feature garments, cementing a sophisticated focus on detailing key to the collection.


A nod to cowboy shapes, particularly the poncho and trench coat, provides inspiration for durable outerwear with mesh lining and raglan sleeves made to increase performance. A western classic, denim is introduce in pieces featuring contrasting fronts and backs in indigo blue and black, chunky white trainers with black saddle flap details complete a sporty, prairie inspired wardrobe. Suede in classic sand appears in jacket signifying the progressively luxe approach of the line.
