J. Crew Fall/Winter 2013 Collection
Frank Muytjens‘ latest jaunt was not so much a reinvention of J.Crew, as much as it was a refinement of the things the label does best. The on-trend athletic influences percolated through the Fall/Winter 2013 collection by way of slim, collegiate-style sweatshirts in bursts of mustard, red, rust and bright blue, juxtaposing the collection’s neutral tones. Building on the label’s staples of outerwear and suiting were heftier and masculine fabrics like tweed and Black Watch plaid. Muytjens also included a new silhouette in the Ludlow Fielding and incorporated exquisite menswear staples like double-breasted coats, double-monk strap shoes and Fair Isle knits.
