In this edition of Vee Travels’ In The Bag series, essential accessories for travel in London. Shot in one of the luxury personality suites of The Savoy, these accessories are based on a blue color scheme, that also mix winter accessories with unique tech designs. Just in time if you’re headed to London early next week for the spring/summer 2014 menswear collections at London Collections: Men.
Backpack - Tumi
The Tumi Lejeune Backpack Tote ($445) is very versatile, and the camo pattern option got me several compliments during my time in London last month. Wear as a backpack or use as a tote with the backpack hide-a-way straps and its military-inspired, cord top handles Offering four pockets on the outside (three zips and two open), inside you’ll find several pockets (a large zip, large open and small open pockets) with an orange color scheme.
Leather Gloves – Coach
As its name implies, you can wear the Coach 3-in-1 Deerskin Glove ($198) in three different ways with the detachable function of the wool gloves. Wear as shown below for extra warmth and style, or just put on the wool or leather gloves.
Travel Organizer – Herschel Supply Co.
The Herschel Supply Co. Grace Clutch ($49) is the perfect travel organizer when dealing with different currencies, such a U.S. dollars and British pounds, or when saving small documents or receipts with the use of its divider. The full grain leather also fits small accessories such as iPhone or wallet.
Baseball Cap – Kaminski XY
From Australian designer Helen Kaminski, the Kaminski XY Vadim Baseball Cap ($145) is a multi-fabric design that uses a combo of tweed, corduroy and suede that’ll outshine your usual cap for its unique design—plus it’ll keep you warm.
Passport Case – Coach
Available in eight color options, the Coach Bleecker Legacy Leather Passport Case ($98) in the mustard option goes well with the shades of blue going on here. The case is hand-assembled, and offers a slot for your passport, travel documents, and has six pockets for your credit cards, subway pass or business cards.
Sunglasses – Warby Parker
Winter or not, you always need a great pair of sunglasses when traveling. Warby Parker Raskin Aviators ($145) have a large lens and wide frame that’ll work well on many face shapes, and the stylish jet silver color option is the clear choice for any globetrotter. As always, when you buy a pair of shades from Warby, a pair of optical glasses are provided to someone in need.
Headphones – Marley
For the tech and design lover, the Marley Liberate On-Ear Headphones ($99) offers a mixed-media design with a stainless steel band that is coated underneath with the brand’s blend of reclaimed hemp and organic cotton that is used to make the band comfortable while on your head. This material is use on the ear as well, paired with natural wood, and I went with the denim color option for the obvious bonus style effect.
iPad Mini Case – Brenthaven
As a fan of pairing products with similar design elements, the Brenthaven Collins iPad Mini Folio ($39) in indigo chambray matched perfectly with the Marley Liberate headphones and the rest of my color scheme. The case’s durability and horizontal stand option also won me over. It has a tuck tab for close when not using (which can be seen in the main photo above).
