On Wednesday, September 3, I attended an intimate event hosted by G-Shock at the Trump SoHo in New York. At this event, the founding father of G-Shock Kikuo Ibe as well as the CEO of Casio America introduced G-Shock’s luxury line of watches – MT-G, GPW1000 and MR G. The G-Shock Gravitymaster GPW1000 has the ‘Triple G Resist’ built which ensures stable operation in the most brutal environments and it is also equipped with a hybrid timekeeping system that obtains precise time data anywhere in the world through GPS satellite radio wave reception and terrestrial radio wave reception. As if that’s not impressive enough, its range of operation covers the entire globe. Now, wearer doesn’t even need to adjust the time manually as the watch will adjust to the correct time itself, based on your location. To meet the standard of the luxury watch as well as to match the superb internal system, the exterior of the GPW1000 is more high-end than ever. The watches feature unique design that includes a fine resin frame, forged metal bezel with DLC (Diamond-like Carbon) coating, a non-reflective sapphire crystal, forged metal buttons and a carbon fiber insert band. All of this results in exceptional durability and a high-quality look & feel.
The G-Shock Gravitymaster GPW1000 is now available in America through key jewelers, select department stores, and the G-SHOCK NYC Soho store and the retail price for the watch is $950.00 USD.
