Italian fashion is fighting back. After losing some of the fashion media attention to LC:M the focus has shifted to Milan where the local traditional industry is smartly refreshing itself.
Milan-based No.21 (Numero Ventuno), the conservative cool women’s brand by Alessandro Dell’Acqua, debuted its first menswear collection in Florence’s Pitti Immagine. Fitting to the elegant-intelligent location, Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale di Firenze, Dell’Acqua kept a severe structured look, adding new materials and some textual references to his first men’s collection.
Stefano Pilati’s opened his much anticipated Ermenegildo Zegna show with a stunning video, which started in a space travel and landed in the epic center of fashion on earth (according to Pilati): Milan. Parkas, pea coats, bomber jackets – Pilati’s army of coats has endless layers and it is covering all suits.

Massimo Giorgetti, designer of MSGM – another highlighted Italian brand – said he mixed together in his new collection: “Prints, colors and preppy elements”. The new collection is a celebration of colors (specially the orange and gold) with great prints as the marble-like total look and the camouflage patterns.
