I have no business surfing First – Third Point in Malibu, and I should probably just stay off the waves all the way up to Leo Corrillo until I am able to do anything but ride a wave straight in. But whatever. I’m not leaving the coast, so I got all the time in the world to learn. Plus, there is talk of moving even closer to the beaches of Southern California. Rad.
A recent visit to San Clemente had me going into and out of every surf shop in town, chatting with the proprietors, buying tanks tops, and scoping products to further the vibe of beach towns. I copped the above shirt from Malibu’s own Brothers Marshall and their Summer 13 collection of radness. But the rest of their offerings are just as badass. Especially that Ampal Creative collab. More on that company soon, too.
The shirts are the softest things I’ve worn in a bit, and the hats fit well. There’s tons more from Brothers Marshall on their site, all at decent enough price points and color pops to set yourself apart from the rest of the kooks. Their blog, too is a good collection of beach vibes and good times.
Which is your fave? I’m snagging that Ampal / Brothers Marshall hat when I get paid again. The sweet.
Oh, and the nod on the My Beach shirt comes from the iconic Surf Punks.
