Two things I love about fall fashion: sweaters and boots. There’s just nothing like a good boot and warm sweater to get me into the season. Now while it did cool down for a day or two last weekend (it even rained) it’s back to being in the eighties and while it definitely doesn’t feel like fall around these parts, I couldn’t wait any longer to start layering up with sweaters and slipping on boots. In order to stay cool I opted for a lightweight slub cotton shawl-collar cardigan since it is still a little warm for full-blown wool sweaters. But at least this sweater gives the effect that a thicker, heavier outer layer provides to an outfit. Keeping with the cool trend, I chose these lightweight cotton joggers instead of a thicker denim pant option to keep me cool enough to layer up. Those are all fine and good, but my favorite thing about this outfit are these amazing Volcom boots. They are a great blend of style and practicality. The contrast between the rich amber leather and the soft white rubber sole looks great and they are insanely comfortable. The insoles are literally made of clouds (no one has confirmed this for me yet but I’m pretty sure I’m on the right track). And, an added perk that a lot of my workboots don’t have is the extra padding in the ankle area. Usually with rugged boots, while they look great, you don’t always get the comfort factor covered. That’s why it makes so much sense for a company like Volcom to turn out more fashionable footwear choices like rugged workboots; they know comfort. Their skate heritage prepared them perfectly for developing a great boot with tons of comfort. So it seems that both Volcom and I were born for boots. Hats off to you my friends!
