Were you ever naturally forced to purchase a black suit for a distant cousin's wedding, and thought to yourself that you are spending hundreds on a suit that you're probably only going to wear once? And, today it is sitting in your closet collecting dust? Well, that doesn't have to be the case. First, it's important to invest in a black classic suit, trust me, it's worth every penny. There are different ways you can wear your black suit, and you don't have to wait for a special occasion to wear it either, you can wear any suit, when styled correctly, just because it's Tuesday. First, ditch the traditional white button-down shirt and tie, and throw on something way more casual like a T-shirt or sweatshirt. I suggest something with a pattern or loud print. Another way to dress down your black suit is, simple, throw on a pair of sneakers. The kicks should be something subtle, a pair of low-top Common Projects should do the trick. Today, I'm wearing my classic black suit by Theory, paired with a grungy t-shirt by one of my favorite Italian-based designers, Neil Barrett. Lastly, I added a simple pair of black slip-on sneakers by Kenneth Cole. And, viola, here it is, a suit that was initially intended to be worn only at your distant cousin's wedding, worn just because it's Tuesday.
