Acqua Di Gio is a cult classic, a scent my father used to wear until my brother nicked his bottle. The freshness and clean vibe, masculine yet never overpowering turned this one into a keeper. The house of Armani is giving us life with a new profumo, this intense one is perfect for me.
I can do fresh, heady and airy scents but my heart belongs to the heavier scents that have character and unique twists. Something to drench your shirt and skin in, skin huggers that truly give definition to an alluring scent. Armani Acqua Di Gio Profumo is just that for me, an intense scent that kept the original DNA yet twists that mineral freshness into incense territory.
We still encounter the herbal and citrus vibe that’s so typical for the AdG range but instantly you can tell it’s much heavier than the other ones. No more frolicking in shallow waters, this one dives right in and gives you rosemary, sage, patchouli and incense. It’s addictive I’ll tell you that! Easily outlasting all the previous ones that pretty much faded on me in the afternoon, it lasts well into the evening till I hit the gym. Warmth brings it back to life and it’s very pleasant that even near the end of the scent, you can still detect it. It projects quite well so you can tell if I’m wearing it, easy on the sprays when you start out.
Bottle wise it’s a reflection of its brutal nature, pure minimal black like the waves that polished the black clay. It feels different than the others, invites you in to try something else and doesn’t disappoint. It’s heavy, luxury and father’s day is coming right up. Have a look at the Acqua di Giò Profumo commercial but especially the behind the scenes, I always love to see how they created it.
